Start with what you need to store, then add a little extra room. Our sizes are the outside size of the building, not counting roof overhangs. Leave about 18 inches to 2 feet clear on every side so you can treat and maintain it. Our Find buildings that fit tool and our guide on what size shed you need will help.
Timber sheds come in overlap, shiplap and tongue-and-groove cladding. Some are dip-treated and some pressure-treated. Read pressure-treated vs dip-treated timber to see the difference.
Every shed needs a firm, level base. Many ranges offer a matching base as an extra, and our guide on what base you need explains the options. Delivery and installation depend on the range. Some prices include fitting, others arrive as a kit to build yourself, and the product page says which. See buildings with installation included.

An apex shed has a roof that peaks in the middle, which gives more headroom. A pent shed has one roof slope, so it fits under low branches and against a fence or wall.
Yes, nearly every shed needs a firm, level base so the floor stays flat and dry. Many of our ranges offer a matching base as an extra. Some steel sheds can go on level ground without a concrete base, and the product page will say so.

Many wooden sheds can be upgraded with different cladding, floor and roof options or a painted finish, and we also carry potting sheds and log stores if you need something more specific. Every building is made to order and delivered direct to mainland England, Scotland and Wales.
