The Weeford Carport – LOJ Collection

The Weeford is our single-bay timber carport — a generous covered space for one car, with room left over alongside for bikes, bins or a motorbike. Eight chunky pressure-treated posts carry a gently curved apex roof finished in felt shingle tiles, so it reads as a proper piece of garden architecture rather than a temporary shelter.

If you want the car out of the frost and the leaf-fall without the groundwork, the expense or the planning fuss of a full garage, a timber carport is the sensible middle ground. Being open-sided, there are no doors to heave up on a wet morning, there is plenty of light, and you can walk round the car with an armful of shopping instead of edging past a wall. The timber weathers to a soft silver-honey over the years and looks at home against a house in a way that steel and plastic shelters never quite manage.

Specification

How many cars does it really take? You may see carports of this size sold elsewhere as two-car models. At roughly 3.75m wide that is only realistic for two very small cars parked tight together, with no room to open the doors properly. We sell the Weeford as a single: one car, with genuine space to get in and out and to keep bikes or bins dry alongside. If you need two cars side by side, look at the Whittington Double.

Base and planning: The Weeford needs a firm, level surface to stand on — an existing concrete, block-paved or tarmac drive is usually ideal, as the post holders anchor straight down into it. Delivery & installation: Made to order and delivered on a 13.6m articulated lorry — please note that arranging a team to unload the pallet on site is the customer's responsibility.
