Warranty & Guarantees

Every building we sell is covered by its manufacturer's own guarantee. We work with several different manufacturers and their terms genuinely are not the same, so rather than quote you a single figure that would be wrong for most of our range, here is exactly what each brand publishes.

Where a manufacturer doesn't publish a guarantee period, we say so plainly further down this page. We'd rather tell you we need to check than put a number in front of you that we can't stand behind.

What each manufacturer publishes

Brand Guarantee What it covers
Sheds DIY 15 years on the timber frame (20 years on Heavy Duty); composite buildings add 30 years on the cladding Every Sheds DIY timber building has a pressure-treated timber frame with a 15-year anti-rot guarantee as standard, rising to 20 years on Heavy Duty buildings. On composite buildings, the composite cladding carries a 30-year manufacturer warranty. Timber buildings need a colour treatment every 2–3 years, so check the guarantee terms for exactly what's asked.
Suresheds 10–15 years Suresheds publish a minimum 10-year anti-rot warranty on their tanalised timber, quoted as 10–15 years depending on the building. Roofs are covered separately under their own terms: 12 months on a felt roof, 25 years on a rubber roof.
Lifelong Steel Sheds 15 years Manufacturer's guarantee on the steel building.
Power Sheds 10 years, up to 20 years on selected products Covers the timber against rot, decay and insect infestation. Power Sheds require the building to be re-treated inside and out every year with a quality wood preserver, and to stand on a firm, level base.
Elite Greenhouses 10 years on the frame Manufacturer's guarantee on the greenhouse frame, across the whole Elite range.
Sovereign Vista Collection (insulated garden rooms) 10 years Warranty on the fully insulated garden rooms in the Vista Collection.
Pent Haus garden rooms 10 years Structural guarantee on the garden room.
Beeston Concrete Garages 10 years Structural guarantee covering manufacturing defects – cracked wall panels or front posts, faulty welds or excessive corrosion in the roof trusses, and seriously defective roof sheets. The base must be correctly prepared, which is the customer's responsibility. Garage doors carry their own separate manufacturer's warranty.
Sovereign (sheds, potting sheds, summerhouses and bandstands) 1 year Manufacturer's guarantee on the building. Ex-display buildings and roofing felt are excluded.
Sovereign Coppice Collection 1 year Manufacturer's guarantee on the greenhouse. Ex-display buildings and roofing felt are excluded.

Fortis Insulated Workshops by Shire 10 years; 20 years on the EPDM rubber roof 10-year limited product warranty, plus a 20-year guarantee on the EPDM rubber roof. The LP SmartSide exterior must be painted to keep the guarantee.

Brands where we'll confirm the terms for you

These manufacturers don't publish a guarantee period we can point you to. That doesn't mean there isn't one – it means we'll check the terms for your specific building with the manufacturer and confirm them to you before you order, rather than guess.

  • Vitavia greenhouses
  • Shire Garden Buildings (main range)
  • A1 Garden Buildings

Just ask when you get in touch and we'll come back to you with it in writing.

A few things worth knowing

  • Every guarantee on this page is the manufacturer's, not ours, and each one is subject to that manufacturer's own terms and conditions.
  • Guarantees depend on the building being looked after: a suitable, firm and level base, and for timber buildings, regular re-treatment as the manufacturer instructs. A building that hasn't been maintained as specified generally isn't covered.
  • Roofing felt and ex-display buildings are excluded from the Sovereign guarantee. Suresheds set their own separate roof terms, shown in the table above – the two brands' rules are not the same, so please go by the one that applies to your building.
  • Timber is a natural material. Movement, colour change and small splits as a building settles are normal and aren't generally treated as defects.
  • None of this affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you'd like the exact terms for a particular building before you commit, just ask – call 01543 398778 or email craig@lichfieldgardenbuildings.com and we'll get them for you.
