Do I need a base?
Yes – a concrete base is required. Ask us and we’ll talk you through it.
Getting the size right: the size in a building’s name (for example “8x6”) is a rounded, nominal size. The real floor or base footprint can be a little different, and the roof usually overhangs further. Build your base to the manufacturer’s base or floor measurement, not the name.
Can’t see the exact base size for your size on this page? WhatsApp us before you lay a base and we’ll check it with the manufacturer.
Do I need planning permission?
Many garden buildings don’t, but some do – it depends on the size, the height and where it goes in your garden.

Your base
A concrete base is required, and the base is the customer's responsibility. Beeston's structural guarantee does not cover problems arising from an unsuitable or incorrectly prepared base, so it is worth getting right — ask us about our trusted subcontractor base-laying service if you need one arranging.
