Do I need a base?
Yes – every garden building needs a firm, level base, ready before your building is put up. Where we sell a matching base for this building, you’ll see it as an option above.

Getting the size right: the size in a building’s name (for example “8x6”) is a rounded, nominal size. The real floor or base footprint can be a little different, and the roof usually overhangs further. Build your base to the manufacturer’s base or floor measurement, not the name.

The Supreme Apex is Shedlands' upgraded apex shed, an extra-high, versatile building whether you need an exterior workspace or extra storage. It comes complete with a fully-framed 3ft ledged and braced door and diagonal side bracing as standard.

- Frame: 32mm x 44mm finished timber (50mm x 38mm sawn)
- Door: 1880mm x 914mm (3ft), fully framed, ledged and braced, with zinc hinges, zinc 'D' handle, lock and key
- Cladding: interlocking timber cladding; Premier and Tanalised pressure-treated upgrades available
- Floor: 12mm finished floorboards (16mm x 125mm sawn), laid on 28mm x 44mm finished floor runners spaced approximately every 300mm
- Roof: green mineral roofing felt (heavy duty poly felt upgrade available)
- Glazing: horticultural glass, 610mm x 610mm window
- Eaves height 1864mm; ridge height from 2190mm (4ft wide) to 2475mm (8ft wide)
- Treatment: a water-based treatment is applied at the factory. It is a temporary coat, so the building must be re-coated by you within 3 months of installation – or choose a painted finish when you order.
- Other sizes: most Shedlands buildings can be made to other sizes on request – ask us for a price.
- How we measure: sizes are shown as length x gable end, so on a 10ft x 8ft building the 8ft side is the gable end. Some other manufacturers quote sizes the other way round, so please check the layout against your space before ordering.
Colours & finishes: painted finish available in Sage, Red, Dark Pink, Swiss Blue, Turquoise, Light Pink, Lilac, Yellow, White, Light Blue, Cream or Cornflower Blue, with roof tiles available in Black, Slate, Red or Green. Where Premier cladding is offered, it's a thicker 18mm board versus 12mm as standard (Loglap cladding is 15mm finished, with a distinctive log-effect profile) – all internal timber framing is rounded on every corner for a safer, neater finish.
Premier cladding is an 18mm finished shiplap board, machined from 22mm sawn timber, and includes upgraded 18mm finished floorboards in place of the standard 12mm.
