What do these words mean?
- Tongue and groove – boards that slot into each other along their edges, giving a tight, flat wall, floor or roof.
- Pressure treated (Tanalised) – preservative is forced deep into the timber under pressure at the factory.
- Toughened glass – safety glass that, if it does break, breaks into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.
- Polyester-backed felt – roofing felt built on a polyester reinforcing layer, which helps it resist tearing.
From the manufacturer’s specification. The full specification is in the description.
Quick questions
Do I need a base?
Yes – every garden building needs a firm, level base, ready before your building is put up. Where we sell a matching base for this building, you’ll see it as an option above.
Prefer concrete? Our partner Midland Base Works lays precision concrete bases – ask us if they cover your area.
Getting the size right: the size in a building’s name (for example “8x6”) is a rounded, nominal size. The real floor or base footprint can be a little different, and the roof usually overhangs further. Build your base to the manufacturer’s base or floor measurement, not the name.
Can’t see the exact base size for your size on this page? WhatsApp us before you lay a base and we’ll check it with the manufacturer.
Read Power Sheds’ own base guide (opens their website)
Do I need planning permission?
Many garden buildings don’t, but some do – it depends on the size, the height and where it goes in your garden.
Try our free 2-minute Planning Permission Checker or read the planning permission guide.
When will it arrive?
Usually delivered in 3–5 working days.
We’ll call you, usually within 24 hours of your order, to confirm the details and the current lead time. Not ready yet? Delivery can usually be pushed back to suit you – order now and have it delivered later.
What guarantee does it come with?
10-year manufacturer guarantee (up to 20 years on selected models). Terms vary by manufacturer, including any care needed to keep it valid.
Can I see buildings in person?
Yes – our Display Site at Buzzards Valley, Tamworth has a selection of buildings on show, open 7 days. We don’t have every model on display, so give us a call before you visit if you’d like to see something in particular, or book a time if you’d like someone there to show you round.
