Which Shed Brand Is Right for Me?

Quick answer

Want a kit you can put up yourself and have quickly? Look at Power Sheds. Want a fully pressure-treated building with a choice of thicker cladding, put up for you? Look at Suresheds. Want the widest choice of designs and cladding upgrades, installed for you, with sizes made to your measurements? Look at Sovereign. Want a traditional shed or summerhouse installed for you, with heavy-duty frame options? Look at Shedlands.

We sell timber sheds and summerhouses from four main manufacturers, and they genuinely aren't the same. They differ in how thick the timber is, how it's treated, how long the guarantee runs, and whether the building arrives as a kit or is put up for you. This page puts them side by side, using the manufacturers' own specifications. Where we can't confirm something, we say "Ask us" rather than guess.

Not timber? Two more options

  • Lifelong steel sheds carry a 15-year guarantee and are delivered and installed by Lifelong's own team. No concrete or slab base is needed on level ground. See our timber vs metal vs concrete guide.
  • DIY Sheds have a Tanalith E pressure-treated timber frame with a 20-year anti-rot guarantee, and composite-clad buildings add a 30-year manufacturer warranty on the cladding.

Help me choose

  • I want to build it myself and have it soon: Power Sheds. Pick Overlap for basic storage, the standard range for everyday use, or Premium for a workshop and the longest Power Sheds guarantee.
  • I don't want to put it up myself: Suresheds, Sovereign and Shedlands are all put up for you.
  • I want the longest timber guarantee: Power Sheds Premium (20 years) or Suresheds with 16mm or 20mm cladding (15 years).
  • I want thick walls: Suresheds 20mm cladding, or Sovereign and Shedlands Premier 18mm shiplap.
  • I have an awkward space: Sovereign and Suresheds both make buildings to your measurements.
  • I want a heavy-duty workshop: Power Sheds Premium (58x44mm frame), the Shedlands Heavy Duty range (50x50mm), the Suresheds Wharfedale Workshop (3x2 inch) or the Sovereign Cumbria Robust (44x44mm). Our shed timber guide explains the differences.
